What thickness and materials we can laser cut
Laser cutting capacity is set by three things: laser source power, the material being cut, and the assist gas. For the same machine, achievable thickness in carbon steel is typically the highest, stainless steel somewhat lower, and aluminium lower again, because reflectivity and thermal conductivity work against the process. Edge quality also falls off well before the absolute maximum thickness, so the practical limit for a part with a cosmetic edge is lower than the machine's rated ceiling. Ask us about that distinction directly, because a quoted maximum thickness with no mention of edge quality tells you very little. Laser cutting carries no tooling cost, which makes it the right route for prototypes, low volume and parts whose design is still changing.
