ODM Solutions
Metal product co-development and new product introduction
For products outside our two established categories. You define the functional requirement and the market; we run the engineering, the tooling and the introduction to production.
When is co-development the right model instead of straight ODM?
Co-development suits a product that does not yet exist in a form either side can simply quote. Straight ODM works when the supplier already builds something close to what you want and can adapt it. Co-development applies when the functional requirement is clear but the physical product is not, when the design has to satisfy a certification standard neither side has fully mapped, or when the buyer holds the application knowledge and the supplier holds the manufacturing knowledge. In that arrangement the two engineering teams work to a shared specification rather than trading drawings. YBT contributes sheet metal design, gas appliance construction experience, tooling and the production line; the customer contributes the market requirement, the target cost and the commercial commitment that makes tooling investment rational.
