Server Chassis and Data Center Sheet Metal Manufacturing
Rack cases, chassis, panels and mounting hardware for server and data centre equipment makers.
Building your server chassis: we take care of the three things you will check first
Hole position, not overall dimension. A chassis that is a millimetre oversize is usually still usable; one whose rail holes have drifted half a millimetre will not accept a drive carrier, and that is a field failure rather than a cosmetic complaint. The second thing inspected is the grounding path, which depends on which surfaces are left uncoated and therefore on masking during finishing rather than on the metalwork itself. The third is ventilation open area, which has to be delivered without losing panel stiffness, so perforation pattern selection is a thermal decision rather than a styling one. Panel flatness across a long production run matters for the same reason. These are the criteria a chassis programme is actually audited against.
What you check first, and how we handle it
| Criterion | Why it matters here | Where we answer it |
|---|---|---|
| Hole position tolerance | A drifted rail hole is a field failure, not a cosmetic issue | Stamped features ±0.05 mm, laser-cut profiles ±0.1 mm, hole positions per drawing |
| Grounding path | Depends on masking during finishing, not on the metalwork | Uncoated grounding areas kept per drawing during plating or powder coating |
| Ventilation open area | A thermal requirement delivered through perforation pattern | Perforated sheet |
| Panel flatness across a run | Consistency matters more than a single good sample | Dimensional inspection against the drawing during the run; about 5,000 assemblies a month, indicative |
| Rack standard compliance | A chassis that fits one rack and not another is unusable | Mounting dimensions on the drawing treated as critical dimensions and checked at first article |
